Hiking

Since there will be no classes on Tuesday (November 17.) at BME, we are organizing a hiking trip to can get away from the city and enjoy nature. We plan to visit a nearby mountain top, Dobogókő. It’s the highest point of the Visegrád Mountains where you can get a great view of the surrounding area.

MEETING POINT:

10 AM at Újpest Városkapu M3 metro station

Please make sure that you arrive on time, so we can catch our bus!

Hiking:
From the station we are going to take bus 880 to Dömös, where the hiking starts. The trail takes us to a beautiful forest through Rám ravine all the way up the mountain to Dobogókő. The ravine is full as small streams and waterfalls. The trip is a bit adventurous but it’s not hard so anyone can participate.

Returning:
We are planning to arrive to Dobogókő by 16:00, there we’ll rest a little and then take a bus to Pomáz, where we change to the local train (HÉV) which takes us back to Budapest.
We plan to be back by 6 pm.

What to bring:
- Warm clothes for the weather, spare shoes and socks in case of wet conditions
- Food and drinks
- Some money for the bus/train tickets (student tickets will cost around 900 Ft in total)
- Valid student ID for ticket discounts

SocialErasmus:
As part of the SocialErasmus Week we are going to take some garbage bags to collect the thrown away trash along the trail, hope we can make the forest a better place as we go :)
