Dear everyone,
Since there will be no classes on Thursday (17th November) we are organizing a hiking trip. You will have the chance to get away from the city and enjoy nature for a while. We plan to go up to a nearby mountain top Dobogókő. It’s the highest point of Visegrád Mountains and from there you can get a great view of the surrounding area.
MEETING POINT:
10:00 at Újpest Városkapu metro station (M3)
Don’t be late because we have to catch the bus!
The hiking:
From the station we are going to take bus 880 to Dömös, where the hiking starts. The trail takes us to a beautiful forest through Rám Gorge all the way up the mountain to Dobogókő. The gorge is full of small streams and waterfalls. The trip is a ...bit adventurous but it’s not hard so anyone can participate.
The way back:
We are planning to arrive to Dobogókő by 16:00, there we’ll rest a little and then take a bus to Pomáz, where we change to the local train (HÉV) which takes us back to Budapest.
We plan to be back by 6 pm.
What to bring:
- Warm clothes
- Food and drinks for dinner
- Some money for the bus/train tickets (student tickets will cost around 900 Ft in total)
- Don't forget to bring your student ID and monthly pass, so you can get the discount on the tickets!
- Spare shoes and socks (because they might get wet in the gorge)
In case of bad weather the hiking will be postponed.
